I think we can all relate that whenever we put out anything in the public, whether be a presentation, a play, etc, we really have no idea how it's going to turn out because it's always a risk. It can be a total bomb, alright, or something positive. We never will know until it's finally out there. I think what makes an artist so great is despite the risk, any reaction that you get out of your work will be unexpected, and I think that's the best way to go about releasing any work. If you set expectations of your work, then you will always be disappointed when your expectations aren't meant. While I don't want you to be worried about releasing anything else in the future because you're a fantastic animator, you've shown you're humble after all these years of art and how real you are about your feelings when you put new creations out. Keep it up.
